The GREEN-TRIALS Curriculum
The GREEN-TRIALS online curriculum is designed to equip undergraduate biomedical and health professions students with the knowledge and practical skills needed to promote sustainability and implement greener practices in clinical trials.
Developed with contributions from experts in sustainable clinical research, the course introduces innovative concepts and practical strategies to reduce the environmental footprint of clinical studies while maintaining scientific quality and regulatory compliance.

Course Structure
The programme combines expert-led content with interactive and innovative learning methods that foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and transferable skills applicable across research and healthcare settings.
A basic understanding of clinical trial design is recommended. For learners who do not yet possess this background knowledge, a short prerequisite lesson will be available to ensure all participants can fully engage with the course material.

Availability & Integration
The GREEN-TRIALS course is currently in development and will be made available in 2027. The materials will be accessible in Czech, French, German, Portuguese and English.
To facilitate integration into existing university curricula, dedicated teacher guides will be provided. These resources will support onsite, online, or hybrid implementation of the materials and offer practical guidance for educators wishing to incorporate sustainability-focused clinical trial content into their teaching programmes.
