New UCC research projects demonstrate the power of interdisciplinary collaboration

Photo: Led by Dr. M谩ire N铆 R铆ord谩in (School of Education), the ABACUS project will investigate how bilingualism can support children鈥檚 mathematics skills and performance through combining insights from education, psychology and neuroscience.

Dr M谩ire N铆 R铆ord谩in (UCC School of Education) and Professor Geraldine Boylan (INFANT Research Centre) awarded Research Ireland funding to investigate how bilingual children鈥檚 language skills influence their ability to solve mathematical problems.
