叠尝脕罢贬 Project

Biodiversity on urban Landscapes Assessing Trimmed Habitats and wild zones within the UCC campus

What is the 叠尝脕罢贬 Project about?

The combined stress from climate change and human activities is predicted to affect over

  • 70% of wild flowering plants and their pollinators and,
  • approximately 75% of agricultural crops.
  •

Food security and crop yield are threatened as a result of pollinator decline.

Threatened also are ecosystem integrity, biodiversity and ecosystem services.

This could result in a

  • reduction of 30% in wild species seed production and,
  • a decrease of up to 80% in reproductive capacity for 50% of plant species.

晚上福利在线观看 Cork has implemented a No Mow initiative since 2018 within the remit of the All Ireland Pollinator Plan.

  • Selected areas around the UCC campuses are left un-mowed from March 鈥 September to promote safe habitats for pollinators.
